03/17/02 - From the Denver Post:

[Grateful Dead drummer and founding member Bill] Kreutzmann admitted he's gearing up for this summer. He'll be back on the road with the surviving members of the Dead.

"I don't know if I can talk about it yet. It looks like the beginning of August. It'll be all the longtime members and their bands. My new band is Trichromes."

02/24/02 - Some miscellaneous news items:
Tom Constanten and the Reverend Tor Band will headline the Key West Seaport Music Fest (Schooner Wharf Stage) (Key West, FL) on March 9th.
The Trichromes (Bill Kreutzmann, Neal Schon, et al.) have released a CD single called Dice With The Universe. Also, according to a promotional email from Grateful Dead Records, "keep an eye out for a full album from The Trichromes in Summer 2002."
According to Billboard.com, two CDs involving Mickey Hart are to be released on 04/23/02: Over the Edge and Back, a best-of Hart compilation with one previously unreleased track, and Kodo's new album Mondo Head, which Hart produced and guested on.

02/05/02 - Starting today, Dick's Picks Volumes 13-18 will be sold in stores for a limited time. Inside each volume is a catalog for DP Volumes 1-24 which reveals the identity of the upcoming Dick's Picks Volume 24: Cow Palace 3/23/74 on 2 CD's.
ALSO: According to the Associated Press, "California Rep. Nancy Pelosi. . . is hosting a fund-raising gala Wednesday featuring former Grateful Dead members Bob Weir and Mickey Hart, and rocker Steve Miller."

01/28/02 - Phil and Friends The Four Winds 2002 Tour dates are up.

01/24/02 - According to the current issue of ICE Magazine, Postcards of the Hanging: Grateful Dead Perform the Songs of Bob Dylan will be released on 03/19/02.

01/06/02 - RatDog Spring Tour dates are up.

01/03/02 - The Grateful Dawg DVD will be out 2/5/02. It will have bonus performances including the Warfield 12/07/91 versions of "I'm Troubled" and "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen."

01/01/02 - Last night in Oakland, CA, the first reunion of the surviving GD members since 07-25-98 took place. At Henry J. Kaiser Auditorium at midnight, the "Crusader Rabbit Stealth Band" (Phil and Friends w/ Bob Weir, Mickey Hart, and Bill Kreutzmann) played Not Fade Away > Truckin' > Playing in the Band > The Wheel > Sugar Magnolia.
